| ouz is a typical village of the Tunisian south, surrounded by sand dunes. This village has preserved its ancestral traditions that are inherited from the Berbers.
There, you will discover handicrafts made of camel skin, berber jewellery and the raising of "Slougui", a retriever pedigree dog, as well as the desert hare.
In December of every year, Douz hosts the "Desert Festival", an occasion to attend "fantasias" (traditional horse races), traditional wedding ceremonies, camel fighting and hare hunting.
Douz is the gate to the desert where Saharan meharies (dromedary riding) and safaris start out to climb the dunes tracking gazelles.
